CHISLEHURST district scouts showed off their talents to the Mayors of Bromley and Bexley, David Crowe and John Wilkinson, at their annual gang show.
The audience, which included groups who travelled from as far as Hastings, Cambridge and Northamptonshire, were well-entertained by the cast of 50 boys and girls from all over Bromley. The team, led by Penny Filby, played to packed audiences at all five performances at Kemnal Technology College, Sidcup.
News of the show even reached comedian and ex-scout Ken Dodd, who personally signed a note wishing the show success, adding “how tickled” the audience would be.
The show played on the Ken Dodd theme with a Diddy Men song-and-dance routine performed by the Beavers, the youngest section of scouting, aged six to eight.
Last year's show qualified for the Red Scarf, awarded by the Scout Association for outstanding performances.
Lifelong supporter of the scout movement Brian Capon has been helping to organise the shows for the past seven years.
He said: “It was a fabulous occasion and we were thrilled with the Ken Dodds letter.”
