From complete abolishment to residential flats, each pub in Peckham offers waves of nostalgia for people in the local area.

They were once the hotspots to grab a cool pint and are enriched in history.

DerelictLondon.com has shared the many abandoned buildings across London over the years – including pubs, swimming pools, flats, hospitals, cafes, and cinemas.

1. The Clayton Arms

DerelictLondon stated that this pub survived being ransacked by youngesters in the 2011 riots, but the pub closed its doors for good in 2013.

Now, the pub has been refurbed and rebranded as the Prince of Peckham, a hotspot for music and comedy events.

2. Pharaoh’s/Walmer Castle

This pub was reportedly run in the 1980s by a British Olympic boxing player, Chris Finnegan.

In 2002, a shooting incident happened at the pub along with other criminal activity, then there was a fire which saw the pub being rebuilt into flats.

Before the job was complete, there was another fire at the premises in January 2009.

3. London and Brighton

This pub is said to have been a “squat”, and was used to host parties, but it was sadly demolished in 2013.

The space is now overtaken by residential flats.

4. The Alliance

Closedpubs.co.uk state that a readers auntie and uncle, Edie and Charlie Cole, ran the pub in the 1960s.

The Alliance was situated at 260 Sumner Road and has since been converted into flats.
