A 16-year-old has been taken to hospital after being slashed in Bromley town centre.

Police were called to East Street at 10.24pm after reports of a man being seen with a knife.

Officers and paramedics attended the street and found a 16-year-old boy with slash wounds.

He was taken to hospital where his condition was assessed as non-life threatening.

Police searched the area, and a man was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent.

A woman was also arrested on suspicion of affray.

They were taken to south London police stations where they currently remain.

Police are appealing for further information on the incident and ask any witnesses or people with video footage to contact police quoting crime reference number 8301/5JUN.

A spokesperson for Metropolitan Police said: “Police were called at 22:24hrs on Monday, 6 June to reports of a man with a knife seen at East Street, Bromley.

“Officers and London Ambulance Service (LAS) attended. At the scene a 16-year-old boy was found with slash wounds.

“He was taken by LAS to a south London hospital where his condition was not life threatening.

“A search of the area was undertaken and a male [adult] was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent. An adult female was arrested on suspicion of affray. They were taken to south London police stations where they remain at this time.

“Enquiries continue.
