An investigation has been launched by police into an incident outside a school in Plumstead.

It happened outside Plumstead Manor secondary school in Old Mill Road at around 3.20pm on Tuesday (May 23).  

Officers confirmed they were called to a crash involving a car and a person but there was no one at the scene when they got there.

The Metropolitan Police has not provided any further details.

A spokesperson for the Plumstead school said an investigation is ongoing and it is working closely with police.

It is offering students and families all the support they need and welcomes any additional information from the community.
