The cast of BBC's Call the Midwife has shared some exciting news with fans of the show ahead of filming for series 13. 

In a post to the show's official Twitter page, the Call the Midwife cast shared they visited the new and expanded official Call the Midwife tour and exhibition gallery. 

The tour, set in the Historic Dockyard in Chatham took place just days ahead of filming for the latest season starts. 

Cast members including Georgie Glenn, Laura Main, Stephen McGann and Jenny Agutter all visited the tour as the post shared that they "felt at home". 

The post shared that the cast was "taken through the exclusive and now enlarged Call the Midwife gallery – which features real props, costumes and reconstructions of our most iconic sets, like Violet’s shop, the Nonnatus clinical room, and even St Cuthbert’s hospital – all lovingly recreated by our expert team."

The special exhibition also includes Trixe's very own wedding dress, as the post writes: "A star feature of the new gallery is undoubtedly the display of original wedding dresses… including Trixie’s beautiful gown from this year’s finale!"

The post shared that the cast is preparing for the new series, writing: "just days away from beginning filming for series 13 – took time away from their preparations."

Fans of the show showed their excitement as one wrote: "Best show on tv would love to do the tour."

Call the Midwife is set to return for a Christmas Special later this year followed by Series 13 in 2024.
