Fans of Call the Midwife have shared their excitement after the BBC drama confirmed they were preparing to film new episodes.
The exciting news was shared after show creator Heidi Thomas posted a photo of the cast enjoying a dinner ahead of the filming.
The Call the Midwife stars enjoyed their night out in London ahead of filming their Christmas 2023 special and series 13.

Along with the joyful snap, bosses of the BBC show shared a statement with fans of the show.
Sharing: “Call the Midwife Series 13: Countdown to filming!! Our cast and production team reconvene for the start of the next season’s work. Hello all! Since our tumultuous season 12 finished airing at the end of February, our intrepid team have been grabbing the chance to rest up, relax, or else fit in some quick theatrical work before filming commences again!
"But today marked an important celebration – our team gathered at a plush venue in the west end of London for their first get-together before the cameras roll again and the scripts drop through the doors.
“We hear the producers organised the team a wonderful meal - there were speeches, lots of laughter and many reunion hugs!!

Fans of the show were quick to share their excitement as many shared that the news was “wonderful” and that they “can’t wait.”
Whilst another fan wrote: “I can’t wait, my most favourite program ever, it’s like going back in time. Good Luck all of you.”
Nearly all main cast members of Call the Midwife were pictured including Judy Parfitt, Stephen McGann, Georgie Glen, Cliff Parisi along with other fan favourites.
However, some stars were missing including Helen George and Laura Mai who are both currently in separate stage productions but are expected to be returning.
