A huge “zombie” knife has been allegedly found in a boy’s waistband after a stop and search in Bexley.

The discovery is reported to have been made yesterday (April 5) by officers from the South East Violence Suppression Unit.

A lock knife and a pointed-hole punch were also allegedly found on the 15-year-old during the search.

Officers say the Stop and Search tool can “without a doubt” save lives and prevent serious harm to other persons.

Bexley Police posted a picture of a huge knife on Twitter and Facebook following the incident.

A spokesperson for Bexley MPS said: “Stop and Search, a widely spoken about tool used by Police, a tool which can often cause concern amongst communities, especially when it involves children.

“Today, officers from South East Violence Suppression Unit provided exactly why this tool, when used effectively, can without doubt save lives and prevent serious harm to other persons.

“A fifteen year old male was subject to a stop and search today and found concealed in his waistband was this large "Zombie Knife".

“Officers further discovered another lock knife and also a pointed hole punch which could still cause some serious harm.”
