Stepping into the spotlight, Simon Langton Girls’ Grammar School presents the well-anticipated school production, ‘Little Shop of Horrors’.
This musical following the story of a rather unusual man-eating plant has always been a popular classic, with its intriguing characters, stunning rock music and a plot to keep you at the edge of your seat throughout. This April, the hard work and effort of the talented young youth of Simon Langton Girls’ Grammar school will finally pay off, when they perform the well-awaited musical on April, Friday 28th and Saturday 29th, after months of practice and preparation.
The cast will be as follows: the main character, Seymore, played by Poppy N; the three narrators, played by Perla H, Lucy O and Rose B; Mr Mushnik, played by Sophie R; Audrey played by Maria F; the dentist, played by Amy B.
The Musical director of the show, Hannah Birrell, says, “We’ve got lots of really young, talented performers” and goes on to mention that they have got people of all ages involved, for both the cast and backstage. On being asked about what type of audience the play is aimed at, Birrell answers, explaining, “It’s a fairly old musical so a lot of moms and dads and nans and grad dads who remember it might want to come but it is also really quite exciting so I think it’s really for all ages”.
