TWO boroughs will receive £250,000 each to support young people with Asbos, it has been announced.
Lewisham and Greenwich will get the money, along with 50 other areas, as part of the Government's challenge and support projects.
It will fund projects over three years for young people with individual support orders running alongside their Asbos.
The orders are tailor-made so youngsters get the help they need through council-run support groups.
Young People's Minister Beverley Hughes MP made the announcement during a visit to Downham Health and Leisure Centre in Moorside Road on June 12.
During her visit She met members of Downham Safer Neighbourhood Team and youth workers.
Ms Hughes said: "By addressing the underlying causes of bad behaviour we can hope to increase education attainment and help those at risk of substance misuse."
Mayor of Lewisham Sir Steve Bullock said: "We welcome any additional support and we'll look carefully at how we can use that funding."
