A 37-YEAR-OLD woman will appear in court today (June 13) charged with the murder of a man who died after being assaulted in a supermarket.

Antoinette Richardson, of Sedgehill Road, Bellingham, will appear before Sutton Magistrates' Court.

She is the girlfriend of Tony Virasami, aged 37, also of Sedgehill Road, who has also been charged with murder.

He has been remanded in custody to appear at the Old Bailey on September 18.

Kevin Tripp, aged 57, a structural engineer from Colliers Wood, was assaulted in the Merton High Street Sainsbury's store on Tuesday (June 10) at 7.30pm.

It is thought he was attacked after a row over queue jumping.

Sources at the supermarket said Mr Tripp had not been involved in the initial row.

The dad-of-one suffered from a head injury as a result of the incident and died in hospital.

A 19-year-old man was also arrested on Tuesday (June 10) for threatening behaviour.

He has been bailed to return to a south London police station on July 22.
