Two men have been arrested after police were called to reports of a group fighting in Beckenham and found a stab victim at the scene.

Police were called at 1.32am this morning (Saturday, March 18) to High Street, Beckenham to reports of a group fighting and a man spraying liquid from a bottle.

Emergency services were at the scene and found a man, believed to be in his early 20s, with a stab wound to his stomach.

Medics from London Ambulance Service treated him at the scene.

At the scene, another man was found to have injuries to his face thought by police to have been caused by a “noxious” substance. 

He was also treated at the scene by LAS.

He was later arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply a class A drug. 

He was taken to hospital as a precaution and his injuries were deemed not life threatening.

A man, 19, was arrested at the scene on suspicion of assaulting an emergency worker and criminal damage.

Both men remain in police custody.

The crime scene which was in place has since been closed.

Police ask anyone with information to call police via 101 quoting reference Cad 519/18Mar.

A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said: “Police were called at 01:32hrs on Saturday, 18 March to reports of a group fighting and a man spraying liquid from a bottle on High Street, Beckenham.

“A 19- year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assaulting an emergency worker and criminal damage.

“Both men remain in police custody.

“A crime scene remains was in place and has since been closed.
