SEVEN members of the guild went on the outing to Essex on May 21.
It was a Three Rivers tour which took place on a fine day with a pub break for lunch.
At the last guild meeting, notice was given of a proposed visit to the Mansion House on September 17.
The speaker was Jane Carter, who gave a talk on hair care. She explained how hair grows and the several different textures.
To get healthy hair, a person needs to use the right shampoo and get a good diet and plenty of exercise.
Setting lotions prolong the life of the set, and conditioners smooth hair and add resilience and body.
Three volunteers had their head and hair massaged before having it styled. Samples of shampoo and conditioner were distributed, and Mrs Carter was thanked for a most interesting afternoon.
The next guild meeting is on June 24 when an entertainment afternoon will be presided over by Bob Miles.
