A man has died after falling from the Aragon Tower in in Deptford this morning.

At 7:13am, police were called to the scene in George Beard Road after receiving reports that a man had fallen from the tower block.

However, the man who police believe to be in his 30s, was pronounced dead at the scene.

London Ambulance Service sent a number of resources to the scene, including an ambulance crew, an incident response officer, and a medic in a fast-response car.

Police say that the death is being treated as “unexpected” and further enquiries to establish the circumstances are currently underway.

Police say his next of kin are yet to be informed.

A spokesperson for Met Police said: “Police were called at 07:13hrs on Thursday, 16 March to reports that a man had fallen from height from the Aragon Tower in George Beard Road, Deptford.

“Officers attended along with the London Ambulance Service.

“A man, believed to be aged in his 30s, was pronounced dead at the scene.

“His next of kin are yet to be informed.

“The death is being treated as unexpected and further enquiries are taking place to establish the circumstances.”

A spokesperson for London Ambulance Service said: “We were called today (16 March) at 7:17am to reports of a fall on George Beard Road, SE8.
