NOTICE OF DEPOSIT OF CONSULTATION DRAFT
SUPPLEMENTARY PLANNING DOCUMENT (SPD) ORPINGTON MASTERPLAN
Town and Country Planning (Local Development)
(England) Regulations 2004 Regulation 17

The London Borough of Bromley issue this notice to invite representations on the Council's Draft Supplementary Planning Document on Orpington Town Centre. The document will form part of the Council's Local Development Framework once adopted.

The documents that are the subject of this consultation are listed below:
- Orpington Town Centre Masterplan Draft SPD;
- Sustainability Appraisal;
- Consultation Statement.

Subject Matter of the SPD
The SPD gives guidelines for the improvement of Orpington in two parts: (i) proposals for the improvement of the pedestrian environment of the High Street and (ii) a Masterplan for the re-development of the Walnuts shopping centre.: The SPD aims to assist in creating a positive town centre environment in order to secure private investment and secure its long term future.

Public consultation period
The draft SPD will be the subject of a six-week period of formal consultation from Friday 6th June to 18th July 2008.
Objections to, and representations in respect of the SPD should be sent in writing to Bob McQuillan, Acting Chief Planner, Planning Division, , Civic Centre, Stockwell Close, Bromley, BR1 3UH before 18th July 2008.

All representations received will be taken into account and reported to Development Control Committee before the SPD is considered by the Council's Executive Committee prior to Adoption.
