A young male has been arrested after a large kitchen knife was allegedly found hidden in his waistband.
Officers were patrolling in the area of Nightingale Vale when they came across the boy in the Lawson House Estate.
Police say he was trying to hide his identity by wearing a balaclava which covered his entire face.
According to police, the area smelt of cannabis.
During the offence, which occurred on February 1, officers searched the young male and found a large kitchen knife that was hidden in his waistband.
He was then arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon.
The young male was later referred to the specialist youth offending team.

A spokesperson for Greenwich Police said: “On February 1, 2023, officers were patrolling in the area of Nightingale Vale.
“Officers were patrolling through the area when they came across a young male that was found in Lawson House on the estate.
"He was trying to hide his identity by wearing a balaclava covering his whole face and the whole area smelt of cannabis.
“Due to suspicious circumstances he was searched by officers who found a large kitchen knife that was concealed in the males waistband.
“Male was later arrested for possession of an offensive weapon.
“This male was later referred to the specialist youth offending team.”
