THOUSANDS of people enjoyed some fun in the sun at the weekend.
More than 6,000 people attended the Gravesend Summer Regatta at the Gordon Promenade on Saturday and Sunday.
Attractions on offer included boat races and charity stalls.
Children from three dance groups, including Hamlands School of Dance, based in Prospect Place, Gravesend, performed to the crowds.
There were five boat races for men and six for women.
The winner in the men's competition was the George Inn pub in Queen Street.
There was no clear winner in the women's race as the three of the crews tied on points. A race planned for later this year will finally decide the winner.
The event was organised and funded by the Gravesend Regatta Committee.
Its honorary secretary, Sue Beecham, said: "The event was extremely successful and the racing was very good.
"We were very lucky with the weather, which always helps, and the stalls looked lovely along the promenade. There was something for everybody."
