AFTER a decade-long hiatus, the Blackheath Kite Festival is making a welcome return to the heath this year but with a new, bike-shaped twist.

For its comeback, the event has grown into Blackheath Bike and Kite Festival, to coincide with and celebrate National Bike Week.

Bringing the skies to life, will be Holland and Belgium's kite teams, showing off their inflatable novelty kites which include air guitars and trains.

Plus The Air Heads and The Flying Squad will both use their kite fleets to create dynamic air ballets.

On the ground, the UK mountain bike stunt display team, Team MAD, will put air in your tyres via death defying leaps, jumps, hops and balancing skills, with special skill sessions in-between displays for children. Plus Dr Bike will be dishing out cycling advice and tips.

Blackheath Bike and Kite Festival, June 14 and June 15, Blackheath. 11am to 7pm.
