FIREFIGHTERS have dealt with a spate of rubbish fires in Dartford in the past two nights.
They were called to one incident where an industrial sized bin had been set alight on Sunday night (June 8) and three were on fire overnight.
The overnight incidents happened in Orchard Street, High Street and Market Street in the town centre between midnight and 1.45am this morning.
A spokesman from Dartford fire station says the bins are usually the big commercial ones which are used by shops.
He said: "The problem we have is sometimes the bins are close to buildings and the fire could spread.
"The Fire Service asks people to try and keep bins away from buildings, keep the lids down and do not overfill them."
