A KEEN walker who lost her unborn baby to an ectopic pregnancy has reached her £10,000 fundraising target in just five months.
Lavinia Burch, from Bromley, completed a 268-mile, 21-day trek along the Pennine Way to raise cash for the Ectopic Pregnancy Trust (EPT).
In June last year, doctors found her baby was growing in her fallopian tube.
After undergoing a series of life-threatening operations and losing her baby, the 31-year-old and her husband, Steve, 32, decided to raise money and awareness about the condition.
Mrs Burch, who works handling negligence claims, said: "The walk was quite daunting but it turned out to be a fantastic experience, even if it was a little tiring.
"We are grateful to everyone who has helped us raise the money, they have been so supportive."
Charity EPT aims to raise awareness of ectopic pregnancies and gives support to sufferers and their families.
An ectopic pregnancy occurs when the pregnancy implants outside of the womb.
