Two men have been bailed after a stabbing which put a man in hospital in Abbey Wood.

The incident happened in Waterdale Road just before 1.50pm yesterday (February 2).

Officers and London Ambulance Service crews were called to the scene.

A man in his 20s was taken to an east London hospital for treatment.

His condition has been assessed as not life threatening or life changing.

A spokesperson for Metropolitan Police confirmed today (February 3) that he remains in hospital.

Two men were arrested on suspicion of GBH and possession of an offensive weapon.

The pair have now been bailed, according to Metropolitan Police.

A crime scene was put in place following the incident.

Police enquiries into the circumstances are ongoing.

A spokesperson for Metropolitan Police said: “Police responded to calls to a stabbing in Waterdale Road SE2 at 13:48hrs on Thursday, 2 February.

“A man aged in his 20s was found with stab injuries.

“He was taken by LAS to an east London hospital; his condition is not life-threatening or life-changing.

“Two men have been arrested on suspicion of GBH and possession of an offensive weapon.

“A crime scene is in place and enquiries are ongoing.”

A spokesperson for London Ambulance Service said:

“We were called at 1.38pm today (2 February) to reports of an incident on Waterdale Road, Abbey Wood.

“We sent an ambulance crew, a medic in a fast response car and a clinical team manager to the scene. We also dispatched London’s Air Ambulance.

“We treated one patient at the scene for injuries and took them to hospital.”
