A motorcyclist has been taken to hospital after a crash with a car in Deptford.

This morning just after 6.45am (February 1), police and ambulance crews were called to the crash in Crosslet Vale.

Police say that the motorcyclist, a man aged around in his 40s, has been taken to hospital from his injuries and they await on an update on his condition.

The incident has led to roadblocks on the A2 (Blackheath Road) and detours are currently in place.

Traffic is currently being reported both ways between Lewisham Road (George and Dragon Traffic Lights) and the A206 Greenwich High Road (Deptford Bridge).

The number 53 bus service is also currently on diversion from Deptford Bridge onto Greenwich High Street due to the collision.

A spokesperson for Met Police said: “At 06:47hrs on Thursday, 2 February police were called to reports of a road traffic collision involving a car and a motorcycle in Crosslet Vale, SE10.

“Officers attended with London Ambulance Service paramedics.

“The motorcyclist – a man believed to be in his 40s – was taken to a south London hospital and we await an update on his injuries”.
