A group of people have allegedly attempted to steal a bike from a cyclist in Dartford in the middle of the night.

The man, aged in his 40s, was cycling along St Vincent’s Road when it is alleged that a group of people confronted him and attempted to steal his bike.

The incident occurred between 12.05am and 1am on Wednesday, January 11, 2023.

One suspect was allegedly holding a brick and another threw a milk crate.

Investigating officer, PC Ellis Langford, said: “It is understood one of the suspects was holding a brick and another threw a milk crate during the incident.

“We have been completing enquiries to track down and arrest those responsible are now urging anybody with information to call our appeal line.”

Officers are appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage.

“The incident happened on St Vincent’s Road between 12.05am and 1am on Wednesday 11 January 2023.

“Officers are also asking residents with private CCTV and motorists with dashcam to check for footage that may assist the investigation.
