These are the best places to eat and drink with your canine companion in Greenwich, according to dog lovers on social media.

Reporter Emily Davison took to a Facebook community group to ask dog owners for the best places to eat and drink in Greenwich and as it turns out there were quite a lot.

Coffee Shops and Cafes

Coffee and Beyond

A good option if you enjoy eating out for breakfast or brunch, the café has a good selection of pastries according to Google reviewers as well as hot and cold breakfast options.

The café is a short walk from Greenwich station with good travel links via train and bus.

Starbucks

The Starbucks located by the Greenwich Cutty Sark is another dog friendly choice that is close to the DLR station, as well as the market.

15grams Coffee House

Another recommendation was 15grams Coffee House which has been reviewed on Google for having a wide selection of pastries and fresh coffee.

One Google reviewer wrote: “I had an assortment of pastries and they were divine.

“The fresh raspberry doughnut was soft and succulent (and actually tasted like fresh raspberries), the cinnamon roll was flavoursome, and the Eccles cake was rich.”

If you fancy something sweet, Kitchen Garden Café came highly recommended for having a selection of cakes that change regularly.

Black Eyed Coffee

One reviewer described this place as: “A cosy little cafe serving delicious baked goods and drinks, ideal for brunches and quick bites.”

They have everything from avocado toast, a full English and a selection of pastries and have also been recommended for being welcoming to dogs.

Located near the O2 in North Greenwich, Coffee Couch is a dog friendly spot serving sandwiches, pastries, and also offer a number of Vegan options.

The Vegan sausage roll was a popular choice with one reviewer writing: “The Vegan Sausage roll is crunchy and scrumptious.”

River Gardens Café

This was a popular choice for many dog owners and came highly recommended by many.

River Gardens Café serves a mix of breakfast, brunch and lunch options along with coffee and a selection of cakes.

It’s a short walk up the river past the Cutty Sark with great views of the O2 and the Thames as you go.

They also serve doggie ice cream if you fancy spoiling your dog with a little treat.

Grind serves a mix of breakfast, lunch and dinner options, as well as cocktails which have received 72 reviews alone on Google with the majority being 4-5 star.

The restaurant is also recommended for being a dog friendly place to enjoy food and drink with your canine companion.

They also have a wide variety of vegetarian and vegan options to diners.

Bill’s Restaurant

If you’re looking for a restaurant with a variety of breakfast, lunch and dinner options along with vegetarian and vegan options Bill’s came highly recommended.

Bill’s is a contemporary European style restaurant with 2,629 reviews on Google with 62 rating their brunch menu.

One Google reviewer wrote: “Big brunch after 8k walk with our little Yorkie who is warmly welcomed in Bill's Greenwich.

“What a difference dog friendly restaurants are and what marks Bill's out as a family restaurant experience.”

The Sail Loft

If you fancy taking your dog to the pub for a drink, then the Sail Loft may be a good drinking spot for you.

Located a short walk from Cutty Sark, this pub states on their website that it “welcomes dogs with open arms” and provides fresh water for them.

The Trafalgar Tavern

Located on the river front, this pub is great to see either indoors or outdoors and enjoy a drink with your dog.

With over 4,000 reviews on Google, this pub is one of Greenwich’s most popular pubs.

The Trafalgar Tavern came highly recommended as being dog friendly, they also provide drinking bowls for dogs too.

Cutty Sark Pub

The Cutty Sark Pub was another popular choice for dog owners, with views of the Thames and the O2.

The pub serves a mix of light snacks as well as classic British dishes like Sunday roast and steak and ale pie.

Richard the First 

Richard the First received a number of recommendations as a good place to bring your dog for a drink, a meal or a Sunday roast.

The restaurant advertises its love for dogs on its website and warns that your pups may indeed get a little bit more attention than you on your visit.

The pub has a beer garden that 26 people gave full marks for on Google and it also came highly recommended for its Sunday roast and fish and chips.

The Plume of Feathers

First built in 1691, The Plume of Feathers is the oldest pub in Greenwich and is a great example of Greenwich’s rich history.

It also came recommended as a great place to visit with your dog as the pub neighbours Greenwich Park.

Located next to the Royal Naval College, this pub was a popular choice for punters wanting to watch some sports whilst enjoying a drink.
