A Sainsbury's store in Chislehurst has been broken into in the middle of the night.

Police were called just after 3.35am this morning (December 22) to the store in Chislehurst High Street.

The suspects had gained entry by smashing a glass door.

Police enquiries are underway to establish what, if anything, was taken.

There have been no arrests.

A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said: "Police were called at 03:36hrs on Thursday, 22 December to reports of a break in at a store in High Street, Chislehurst.

"Officers attended.

"At the scene the suspects had gained entry by smashing a glass door.

"Enquiries are underway to establish what, if anything, was taken.

"There have been no arrests. Enquiries continue.

"Anyone with information or footage should call police on 101 or tweet @MetCC quoting 701/2DEC.
