An investigation into child cruelty allegations at a nursery in Bromley is still ongoing after four months, confirm police.

It was launched after four female employees, aged between 18 and 28, at Lemongrove Nursery were arrested on suspicion of child cruelty.

It was alleged that a two-year-old child was physically assaulted by staff at the Hook Farm Road nursery on May 20.

The staff were subsequently released on bail.

Officers say there were no apparent physical injuries to the child.

Two further female members employees were interviewed voluntarily.

A spokesperson for Metropolitan Police said today (December 19) that there are no updates on the case.

Police enquires are ongoing.

A notice from Ofsted stated the nursey was suspended between May 31 and July 12.

It explained that the purpose of the suspension was to allow time to investigate the belief that a child may be exposed to a risk of harm.
