A man has gone viral after running topless in the snow along roads in London on Sunday night.

Yusef Bouattoura, boxer and celebrity PT, can be seen running past the Tottenham Hotspur Football Stadium wearing just boxers and balaclava in a video posted to Instagram.

Yusef said he had decided to take his daily 5k run around his hometown in Tottenham at around 9pm – regardless of the weather.

He told Newsquest London: “This is something I do for my training as I am preparing for my fight next year.

“It is great for the training, the mindset and just to keep myself committed.

“It’s just to encourage young people to go out there and get it done, regardless of the weather, and to keep people inspired.”

He has previously faced homelessness but has since “turned his life around” and launched his business, Pro.PT.

Yusef has now been a celebrity personal trainer for around eight years and has spent the last year working on his boxing career which he says has taken off “really quickly”.

His next big fight is next year at the O2 arena – where he hopes to take another win after beating his last five opponents.

He is also part of Gloves Up Knives Down which is a Social Enterprise committed to supporting young people living in communities affected by knife crime, providing access to boxing training to help them lead fulfilling away from crime.

Yusef said if he had a message to pass on to his audience it would be “put the knives and guns down and raise the gloves instead.”

His Instagram account, Pro.Pt, has 63.8k followers and the video has so far reached around 81.5k people.

Yusef said the response has been positive and he stayed up during the night reading the comments.

Some comments read “this guy is built differently” and “lucky you’ve got that hat to keep you warm”.

He explained that he did not expect the video to get as much response as it did and that the response has been “overwhelming”.

The Met Office issued yellow severe weather alerts due to the wintry conditions and last night was the coldest night of the year so far.
