A man from Charlton and four others have been charged after a series of raids, including one in Greenwich.

Drugs, believed to be ketamine and MDMA, were recovered along with a large quantity of cash from addresses in Tower Hamlets, Greenwich, Newham and Southend-on-Sea on December 7.

Five men appeared in custody at Thames Magistrates Court on December 8 and will next appear on January 5.

All will remain in custody.

He Kaisu, 29, of British Street, E3, Youde Chen, 52, of Woodgrange Drive, Southend-on-Sea; and Lin Chuanglong, 57, of Charlton Church Lane, SE7 were charged with conspiracy to import class A and B drugs and possession of criminal property.

Xiofeng Yu, 33, of Stephenson Close, Bow, was charged with possession with intent to supply class A drugs and possession of criminal property.

Xin Feng He, 39, of Manbey Street, Stratford, was charged with possession of criminal property.

A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said: “Five people have appeared in court charged with various offences following a proactive operation targeting the importation of drugs.

“The arrests came following a proactive operation led by the Central East Crime Squad on Wednesday, 7 December where warrants were executed at addresses in Tower Hamlets, Greenwich, Newham and Southend-on-Sea.

“Enquiries into the circumstances continue.”
