A Section 60 order has been authorised and will be in place in the SE18 area until tomorrow morning.

Police will be given additional powers from 4.50pm today (November 17) until 7.50am tomorrow morning (November 17) in this location.

This means police can stop and search anyone within this area as do not need to have 'reasonable grounds' in order to search someone.

The areas the order covers includes: Shooters Hill Road, Stadium Road, Repository Road, Wellington Street, Bedford Square, Bedford Street, Plumstead Road, Griffin Road, Waverly Crescent, Ennis Road, Admaston Road, Rowton Road, Plum lane and Shrewsbury Lane.

Police have been approached for more information regarding why the Section 60 has been declared.
