A 17-year-old boy from Welling has been arrested following a moped theft in Dartford.

Police first saw the moped last Saturday (November 5) at around 4.20pm and were later flagged down by a member of public who reported the driver had fallen from the vehicle after performing wheelies.

Officers were on proactive patrols at the time in the St Vincent’s Road area.

Police searched the area and found the suspect crouched in the undergrowth in Knights Manor Way.

The boy, 17, was arrested on suspicion of theft and driving offences.

Further enquiries at the teenager’s home in Welling led to the boy also being arrested on suspicion of possessing an offensive weapon and in connection with the supply of Class A drugs.

He has since been released, pending further investigation.
