NINE restaurants in south east London have been shortlisted in the Asian Curry Awards 2022.

The awards, which are organised by the Asian Catering Federation, represent the UK's 30,000 Asian restaurants and takeaways - celebrating the industry's best cuisines.

The nominees will now be whittled down by an online public vote – before the judges determine the eventual winner.

A lucky few will be honoured at an awards ceremony at London’s Grosvenor House on November 20.

ACF chairman Yawar Khan urges the public to cast their votes, saying it could make all the difference to the eventual winners.

He said: “Every week I hear from another owner closing their restaurant because they cannot see an end in sight to the economic situation, but an award win can bring a massive upsurge in trade.

“For customers wanting to help their favourite restaurants survive, their votes can be crucial.”
