A man in his 40s has been taken to hospital after he was assaulted in Camberwell.

Police were called at 12.50am on Sunday (October 23) to a south London hospital following reports that a 40-year-old man was being treated for facial injuries.

Officers attended and were told that the man had been attacked a short time earlier by three suspects on Dagmar Road.

The victim was allegedly punched and kicked in the face, and had his mobile phone stolen.

The victim has since been discharged.

Police believe the suspects are black and were wearing balaclavas and were last seen heading in the direction of Peckham Road.

Detectives would like to speak with anyone who saw or heard the attack.

Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101 quoting reference CAD 348/23Oct.

A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said: “Police were called at 00:50hrs on Sunday, 23 October to a south London hospital following reports that a 40-year-old man was being treated for facial injuries following an assault.

“Officers attended and were informed that the man had been attacked a short time earlier by three suspects in Dagmar Road, SE5.

“He was punched and kicked in the face, and had his mobile phone stolen.

“The victim has since been discharged.

“The suspects are all described as Black and were wearing balaclavas.

“They were last seen heading in the direction of Peckham Road.

“Detectives would like to speak with anyone who saw or heard the attack.

“Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101 quoting reference CAD 348/23Oct.
