A 27-year-old man is in a critical condition after being found unresponsive in a park in Eltham. 

Emergency services were called to Vista Field in Middle Park Avenue at 2.40pm yesterday.  

The man was taken to a south London hospital for treatment.  

His injuries are being treated as unexplained.  

Officers say the park has been closed while further enquiries are carried out. 

The investigation is being led by officers from the South East Borough Command Unit.  

We have contacted London Ambulance Service and London Fire Brigade for further information.  

A spokesperson for Metropolitan Police said: “At 2.40pm on Wednesday, 21 September police were called to Vista Field off Middle Park Avenue, SE9 following reports that a man had been found unresponsive. 

“Officers attended with London Ambulance Service paramedics and firefighters from the London Fire Brigade who assisted with entry to the field.  

“The man, who is aged 27, was taken to a south London hospital where he remains in a critical condition.  

“His injuries are being treated as unexplained and as a result, the park has been closed while further enquiries are carried out. 

“The investigation is being led by officers from the South East Borough Command Unit.”
