HOPES Bexley may play host to teams competing in the 2012 Olympics have received a boost.
Two bids from the borough to be considered for training facilities have been accepted.
Bexley's leisure centres at Crook Log and Erith have been listed as potential sites for athletics training while Mount Mascal and Shannon Leigh Stables in Bexley could host equestrian hopefuls.
Altogether, 96 venues and facilities across London will appear in a national guide, listing training venues for participants in the run-up to the 2012 Games.
The list will be circulated to all national Olympic committees and Paralympic committees for them to choose where to base themselves and what training facilities to use.
Two-thirds of the 96 London venues, including Bexley's, are outside the five Olympic host boroughs and London is offering training facilities for 28 of the 36 Olympic sports.
Among the criteria the borough had to meet were comfortable and affordable accommodation, good transport links, access to a good hospital and experience of hosting elite teams.
