POLICE have launched a CCTV appeal after a girl was sexually harassed on a bus in Bromley.

A 14-year-old was approached by two teenage boys on the upper deck of a 320 bus in South Hill Road on May 1.

One of them attempted to engage her in conversation before making inappropriate comments which caused her to feel concerned for her safety.

Officers have now released CCTV images of a person they wish to identify and speak to.

Detective Constable Dan Lane said: “I need your help to identify this male whose behaviour towards a young girl was totally inappropriate.

“Everyone has the right to travel in safety without being harassed.

“If you were on this bus, or recognise the person in the image, please contact us.”

Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101 and quote reference 4761/09AUG.

Information can also be provided anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

A spokesperson for Metropolitan Police said: “Detectives are appealing for help after a girl was harassed by a teenager who made sexual comments towards her.

“On Sunday, May 1, a 14-year-old girl was travelling on the upper deck of a route 320 bus in the South Hill Road area of Bromley, when she was approached by two teenage boys.

“One of them attempted to engage her in conversation before making inappropriate comments which caused her to feel concerned for her safety.

“Detectives from the Roads and Transport Policing Command are investigating.

“They have today released a CCTV image of someone they need to identify and speak with.”
