The water company has apologised to customers in the area who are experiencing no water or lower pressure than normal.

The road has also been closed in both directions.

Thames Water aims to complete the repairs by this evening and hopes to backfill and reinstate it over the weekend, according to Bexley Council.

Providing the materials cure in the hot weather, the road will reopen by August 15.
