A 24-YEAR-OLD serial burglar has been jailed for 30 months.
Martin Jackson, also known as Martin Keane, of Federation Road, Abbey Wood, was caught trying to smash his way into a sleeping couple's house with a hammer.
He was jailed at Woolwich Crown Court on February 8. He pleaded guilty to attempted burglary and asked for two more to be taken into consideration.
Unemployed labourer Jackson had only been given a supervision order on January 4 after admitting committing two other burglaries in Abbey Wood.
Five days later he tried to break into a house in Brookhill Close, Woolwich.
The court heard Jackson had committed burglaries to fund his drug addiction.
