Riot police have been seen on a busy road in Bromley this morning after a man was "threatening to harm himself" inside a home.

Police and ambulance crews were called to the home in Station Approach, Hayes at around 9am.

The man who was threatening harm left the building and was being cared for by paramedics.

He has now been taken to hospital.

Footage shows at least six police vehicles and two ambulances at the scene.

The London Ambulance Service sent an ambulance crew, an incident response officer and member of its hazardous area response team.

A Met Police spokesperson said: "Police were called at 08:59hrs on Tuesday, 12 July to concerns for the welfare of a man who was threatening to harm himself at a residential property in Station Approach, Hayes.

"Officers attended along with London Ambulance Service.

"The man subsequently left the property and is being cared for by paramedics."

A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called at 09.04am today (12 July) to reports of an incident at Station Approach, Hayes.

“We sent an ambulance crew, an incident response officer, and members of our Hazardous Area Response Team (HART).

“We treated one man at the scene, before taking him to hospital.”
