A man has been fined nearly £600 after he was caught drink-driving in Bexleyheath.

Bolarin Akindele Ojuokaiye was stopped while driving a Mercedes on Townley Road in Bexleyheath on April 30, 2022.

There was 69 microgrammes of alcohol in a sample of 100 millilitres of Ojuokaiye’s breath - which exceeds the prescribed limit.

The 50-year-old was fined £585 for the offence during a hearing at Bromley Magistrates’ Court on June 27, 2022.

Ojuokaiye, of Hopkins Close in Dartford, was not disqualified from driving as the court agreed he did not believe he was drinking an alcoholic drink and he was helping his friend in a genuine emergency.

Ojuokaiye was ordered to pay a £500 fine and court costs of £85.

He must pay £300 per month commencing July 25, 2022.
