A man has been airlifted to hospital after suffering a serious head injury near Dartford Central Park yesterday.

Police were called to Market Street at around 3pm by the South East Coast Ambulance Service.

A man received treatment for a head injury before being taken to a major trauma centre by air ambulance at around 3.20pm.

The injury is believed to have been accidental, although police are investigating the circumstances of the incident.

Investigators closed Dartford Central Park to the public while completing their enquiries.

A spokesperson for North Kent Police said: “At around 3pm Tuesday 5 June 2022, Kent Police was called by South East Coast Ambulance Service to an injured man in Market Street, Dartford.

“Officers attended the scene where he received treatment to a head injury before being taken to a London hospital for medical attention.

“An investigation is underway into the circumstances and anyone with information is asked to call Kent Police on 01474 366149, quoting reference 5-0849.”

A spokesperson from Air Ambulance Charity Kent Surrey Sussex said: “A helicopter from Air Ambulance Charity Kent Surrey Sussex (KSS) attended a male patient accidental injury in Dartford on 5th July.

“Our crew arrived on scene at 15:23 where they worked with SECAmb to help treat the patient who was taken to a major trauma centre by air.”

South East Coast Ambulance Service has been approached for comment.
