A MAN has been treated by ambulance crews after a house fire in Abbey Wood.  

The fire broke out in Abbey Grove shortly after 1.30pm yesterday (July 3).  

A part of a room on the rear side of the mid-terraced house was damaged by the fire.  

A man left the property before crews arrived.  

He was then treated on scene by London Ambulance Service crews.  

The fire was under control at 2.15pm.  

Fire crews from Plumstead, Bexley, East Greenwich, and Sidcup stations attended the incident.  

The cause of the blaze is believed to be caused by a four-way extension lead.  

A spokesperson for London Fire Brigade said: “Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters tackled a fire in a house in Abbey Grove, Abbey Wood.  

“Part of a room in the rear of the mid-terraced house was damaged by fire.  

“A man left the property before crews arrived and was treated on the scene by London Ambulance crews.  

“The Brigade was called at 1333 and the fire was under control by 1415.  

“Fire crews from Plumstead, Bexley, East Greenwich, and Sidcup stations attended the incident.  

“The cause of the fire is believed to have involved a four-way extension lead.”
