Bromley: Fifteen fire engines called to St Mark's Square fire

  • Fifteen fire engines and around 100 firefighters tackled a flat fire at St Mark's Square in Bromley.
  • Half of a five-room flat on the 15th floor of a 19-storey block of flats was destroyed by fire.
  • Part of the roof was also damaged in the blaze.
  • Fire crews will remain on scene to continue dampening down the area.
  • The Brigade was first called at 11.58pm and the fire was under control by 16.08pm.
  • The cause of the fire is now under investigation.
  • Around 120 people were evacuated from the building and no injuries have been reported.
