A dispersal order will be put in place in Greenhithe and Bluewater over the weekend to target people who use vehicles in an antisocial manner.

Kent Police has warned that drivers who use their vehicles in this way could have them seized.

Police have said that they “are aware that anti-social driving and the noise associated with this can have a damaging effect on the local community.”

Officers will be deployed as part of a crackdown on antisocial behaviour in the area.

The section 34 dispersal order, which is in place from Friday June 10 to Sunday June 12, will prevent large groups of people from congregating in the area.

Community Safety Unit Inspector for north Kent, Insp Trevor Jenner, said: “We continually work hard to tackle anti-social behaviour, which is often caused by a minority but can have an adverse effect on a whole community.

“Our action this weekend will be to ensure that anti-social behaviour does not take place and that there is no disruption to others living, working and visiting the area.

“While we want people to enjoy their weekends, we are aware that anti-social driving and the noise associated with this can have a damaging effect on the local community, and so we will be taking robust action to prevent this, which if required, will include the seizure of vehicles.”

A Kent Police spokesperson said: “Drivers who use their vehicles in an anti-social manner could face having them seized during a crackdown on anti-social behaviour.

“Officers will be specifically deployed around Greenhithe and Bluewater between Friday 10 and Sunday 12 June 2022 as part of planned action to target people who use vehicles in an anti-social manner.

“A section 34 dispersal order will also be in place to prevent large groups of people congregating in the area, which can lead to anti-social behaviour.”
