A 14-year-old boy has been found dead in a wooded area in Sidcup after going missing from Bexley.

Police were called at 10.51am on Thursday, May 12 to Dene Avenue after a male was found unresponsive in a wooded area.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

He has been formally identified as Jamie Daniel, who had been reported missing from Bexley.

Officers ask that his family’s privacy is respected at this very difficult time.

His death is currently being treated as unexplained while police enquiries continue.

A file will be prepared for the coroner.

A spokesperson for Met Police said: “Police were called at 10.51am on Thursday, 12 May to Dene Avenue, Sidcup, after a male was found unresponsive in a wooded area.

“Officers responded. The male was pronounced dead at the scene.

“The male has been formally identified as 14-year-old Jamie Daniel, who had been reported missing from Bexley.

“We ask that his family’s privacy is respected at this very difficult time.

“The death is currently being treated as unexplained while enquiries continue.

“A file will be prepared for the coroner.”
