A man has been charged with murder after a dad from Bexley was stabbed in Greenwich.

Emergency services were called to Greenwich High Road at around 2.15am on May 1.

Ibrahim Bah, 34, was found with stab injuries and then taken to hospital where he died shortly after.

David Joseph Johnson, of Haddo Street in Greenwich, was arrested on May 2 following the attack.

The 37-year-old appeared at Highbury Corner Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, May 4 charged with murder.

He has been remanded in custody and will next appear at London Central Criminal Court on May 6.

A spokesperson for British Transport Police said: “A 37-year-old man appeared at court this morning (4 May) charged in connection to a fatal stabbing in Greenwich on Sunday 1 May.

“David Joseph Johnson, 37, and of Haddo Street, Greenwich, London, appeared at Highbury Corner Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday 4 May charged with murder.

“He has been remanded in custody until his next appearance at London Central Criminal Court on Friday 6 May.

“British Transport Police (BTP) and the Metropolitan Police were called to Greenwich High Road at 2.15am on Sunday 1 May following reports of a stabbing.

“Officers quickly attended alongside paramedics from the London Ambulance Service and a man in his thirties was taken to hospital where he very sadly died a short time later.”
