The family of a dad from Bexley who died following a stabbing in Greenwich this weekend have paid tribute.

Ibrahim Bah, 34, died following the attack in Greenwich High Road in the early hours of May 1.

His family have described him as a "kind, loving father" who loved his family.

They ask for privacy and respect during this time.

The full statement said: "Ibrahim was a kind loving father who loved his family very much and will be terribly missed, ‘he belongs to Allah and he returns to Allah' we wish that justice will be served."

British Transport Police and Metropolitan Police officers were called to the scene at 2.15am on Sunday.

A 29-year-old man from Lewisham was arrested the same day, but he has since been released and no further action will be taken against him.

On Monday, May 2, a second man, aged 37 and from Greenwich, was arrested in connection with the murder.

He currently remains in custody.

A spokesperson for British Transport Police said: "The family of a man who died in fatal stabbing in Greenwich, London, have issued a tribute and asked for privacy.

"Ibrahim Bah, 34, from Bexley, sadly died following the attack which occurred on Greenwich High Road in the early hours of Sunday 1 May.

"His family have released the following statement.

"They said: "Ibrahim was a kind loving father who loved his family very much and will be terribly missed, ‘he belongs to Allah and he returns to Allah' we wish that justice will be served."

"At this moment in time the Bah family wishes to have privacy and respect during their time of this tragic loss.

"Officers from British Transport Police (BTP) and the Metropolitan Police were called to the scene at 2.15am.

"A 29-year-old man from Lewisham was arrested the same day, however he has since been released and no further action will be taken against him.

"On Monday 2 May, a second man, aged 37 and from Greenwich, was arrested in connection with the murder. He currently remains in custody."
