A man aged in his 30s has died after being stabbed in Greenwich.

Emergency services were called to Greenwich High Road at around 2.15am today (May 1).

The man was taken to hospital where he died shortly after.

The victim’s family has been informed and they will be supported by specialist officers.

A post-mortem examination will be arranged in due course.

An urgent investigation is under way.

There has been no arrests at this stage.

A spokesperson for Met Police said: “An investigation has been launched following the death of a man in south-east London.

“Police were called at 2.15am on Sunday, 1 May, to reports of a man with stab injuries in Greenwich High Road, SE10.

“Officers attended along with London Ambulance Service.

“The man, aged in his 30s, was taken to hospital, where he died a short time later.

“The man's family have been informed; they will be supported by specialist officers.

“A post-mortem examination will be arranged in due course.

“An urgent investigation is under way, There has been no arrest at this early stage.

“Witnesses or anyone with information are asked to call 101, ref 824/01may.
