A CYCLIST has been taken to hospital after a crash involving a car in Southwark.

Emergency services were called to Tower Bridge Road yesterday (April 29) at around 7.40pm.

The cyclist, a 26-year-old man, was taken to the hospital with a head injury.

Officers say his condition is not thought to be life-threatening.

The driver of the car stopped at the scene.

Enquiries to establish the circumstances are ongoing.

A spokesperson for Met Police said: “Police were called at 7.40pm on Friday, 29 April to reports of a collision involving a car and a cyclist in Tower Bridge Road, SE1.

“Officers attended along with London Ambulance Service. The cyclist – a 26-year-old man - was taken to hospital with a head injury. His condition is not thought to be life-threatening.

“The driver of the car stopped at the scene.

“Enquiries to establish the circumstances are ongoing.

“Anyone with information is asked to call 101 quoting CAD 6722/29APR.”
