Drivers are being advised to avoid an area in Lewisham after a lorry crash.

People should avoid Verdant Lane in SE6 and it's surrounding area after a lorry crashed into a bridge.

This appears to be a Kersey Freight Limited lorry carrying toilet rolls.

Police say structrual engineers have assessed the scene.

There are no reports of any injuries.

Police were called to Verdant Lane at 8.10am today in response to reports a vehicle had been in collision with a railway bridge.

Lewisham Police tweeted: "#RoadClosure | Motorists are advised to avoid #Verdant Lane #SE6 and the surrounding area after a lorry collided with a bridge.

"Structural engineers are at the location and are assessing the scene.

"The vehicle remains at the scene.

"No reports of any injuries."
