A man has been charged after a member of the public reported seeing a man with a knife in Dartford.

The suspect was spotted at around in Overy Street at around 10am on Monday, April 18.

Police attended and found the suspect on a nearby footbridge.

He was detained, searched and a knife was reportedly seized.

Konrad Stanoch, 42, was later charged with possession of a knife in a public place.

Stanoch, of Oak Road in Erith, was further charged in connection with previous offences in March and April, relating to allegations of theft, possession of amphetamine, two counts of criminal damage and shoplifting.

He is bailed to appear at Medway Magistrates’ Court on May 25, 2022.

A Kent Police spokesperson said: "A prompt response by officers in Dartford has led to the arrest of a man alleged to have been seen carrying a knife.

"A member of public reported seeing the suspect with the weapon at around 10am on Monday 18 April 2022, in Overy Street.

"Officers attended immediately and carried out a search.

"The suspect was located on a nearby footbridge. He was detained and searched and a knife was seized.

"Charged Konrad Stanoch, 42, of Oak Road, Erith was later charged with possession of a knife in a public place.

"He was further charged in connection with previous offences in March and April, relating to allegations of theft, possession of amphetamine, two counts of criminal damage and shoplifting.

"He is bailed to appear at Medway Magistrates’ Court on 25 May 2022."
