A driver of a BMW will appear in court after being charged with drink driving and speeding on the M25 in Dartford.

Patrick Obama of Lindon Road in Bognor Regis was caught is accused of driving erratically on March 28 shortly before 1am.

Police reportedly signalled for his vehicle to stop, and it slowed before speeding up and away from officers, the force said.

The vehicle was then stopped in Bob Dunn Way and the driver was detained.

The 38-year-old is due to appear before Medway Magistrates’ Court on April 24, 2022.

A spokesperson for Kent Police said: “A motorist has been charged with driving offences after he was observed by officers to drive erratically on the M25, Dartford.

“The officers were on patrol shortly before 1am on Monday 28 March 2022 when they saw a BMW X5 speeding.

“The patrol signalled for the vehicle to stop and it apparently slowed before speeding up and away from the officers.

“The vehicle was stopped in Bob Dunn Way and the driver was detained.

“Patrick Obama, 38, of Lindon Road, Bognor Regis, was charged with speeding and driving under the influence of alcohol.

“He is due before Medway Magistrates’ Court on 24 April 2022.”
